Continuum of Care Planning Committee

The CoC Committee has overall responsibility for the timely, accurate presentation of Memphis and Shelby County's annual Continuum of Care Consolidated Application to HUD to accompany agency applications. Duties of the CoC include the following: gaps analysis, attendance at each annual HUD SHP/Continuum of Care Training, solicitation of new and updated information from the membership and others as needed, adherence to HUD changes; informing the Consortium membership, Coordination of Continuum of Care Exhibit 1 and the agency proposals in an organized fashion, assisting agencies as needed, and printing and dispersing document to the community as deemed appropriate and affordable by the Consortium membership.

Veterans Committee (Zero:2017 Implementation Team)

The Zero:2016 Implementation Team is composed of outreach workers and housing providers who meet regularly to place Memphis' most vulnerable chronically homeless individuals into permanent supportive housing. This committee will coordinate and identify service needs for veterans experiencing homelessness and their families. In addition, this committee will serve as a liaison between the Consortium and the Memphis VA Medical Center.

HMIS Committee

HMIS stands for "Homeless Management Information System", a database of homeless individuals maintained by homeless service providers. Each community receiving HUD funding is required to participate in HMIS. This committee provides information and guidance to the Consortium on issues related to the implementation of HMIS. The Committee also ensures that HMIS users meet the established ServicePoint User Policies and Responsibility Statement & Code of Ethics.

Emergency Housing Partnership/Families Committee

This team coordinates the implementation of the Central Intake System for Homeless Families and promotes communication among all family service providers.  The Committee also advocates for families who are experiencing homelessness while directly encouraging the representation of families in the Continuum of Care. This group meets regularly at MIFA on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 1:00 pm.

Healthcare Committee

This committee will advocate for the homeless population to receive access to healthcare while educating the Memphis and Shelby County community and the Continuum of Care on healthcare needs and available resources for homeless persons.

Housing and Supportive Services Workgroup

This committee advocates for resources and services for single adults experiencing homelessness while educating the Memphis and Shelby County community and the Continuum of Care about the needs of single adults who are experiencing homelessness. This committee also works to develop strategies to help this population gain and maintain employment while educating the community on available resources.

Housing Prioritization Council (Outreach Committee)

The Housing Prioritization Council meets each Friday. Anyone interested in street outreach efforts is welcome to attend.

Youth Committee

The Youth Committee advocates for resources and services for youth ages 18 to 24 who are experiencing homelessness.  This group identifies and develops strategies to help youth who are experiencing homelessness gain housing and services that fit their expressed needs and preferences.
